One of the greatest things about living out at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in the off season is being able to look after our 30+ horses. The beautiful team that we have has been with us for a while and some of you may be familiar with a few of them yourselves!
From our different activities that we offer here at the resort, you as a guest, have the ability to take these amazing creatures out for a ride or maybe even a horse 101. Yup, that’s right! We are taking you back to school, horse school that is! In a 101, you will learn basic grooming techniques and are able to get closer to our amazing team of horses!
So, whether it’s taking them for a ride or just watching them in the field doing their horse thing, there really is nothing quite like the vision of the horses letting loose!

Have you ever wondered what you might see during your stay here? Lions and tigers and bears?? No way! Eagles and whales and bears?? Absolutely!
Our Executive Chef, Ryan Orr, lent a hand for the 25th Annual Mustard Seeds pre-Christmas dinner. Chef Ryan and other volunteers helped prepare dinner for over 600 people in need including families, single adults and couples.

This is an annual tradition for Chef Ryan and his family with his mom being the one that started helping out at this annual event 15 years ago!
Pinterest has been around for a little while now and with the invitation taken away, everyone is free to join in the fun! We took the leap just before our season opener this year and have had such fun with this new social media sharing site. We have created a few boards that highlight some of the great things that is Clayoquot Wilderness Resort but the great thing about Pinterest is the ‘dream’ affect that it brings. The ever wanting ‘bucket list’ of places to go and things that you want.
We are part of a board called “Places to Visit Before You Die” and there are some amazing places on their to consider. Over 11,000 pins are on this board and growing everyday!
Find loads of interesting tidbits about the resort; from animals in the wilderness to different types of activities in the wilderness you can do here. Everything including ideas of what to wear in the wilderness!

We get a lot of people that like to write about us and we are always super thrilled to see the articles. It was a great treat to see this article by WhereCanada and our inclusion on their article about “12 of Canada’s Most Unusual Hotels“. While we have been labeled “glamping” we will take the unusual as well!
