Policies & Customs
We do our best to accommodate extraordinary guest requests under extraordinary circumstances, but due to our short season and remote location, we cannot make exceptions to our deposit and cancellation policies. We very strongly recommend that, for peace of mind, all guests purchase travel insurance.
Booking & Cancellation
A deposit representing 50% of the total cost of booking including taxes and gratuities is due at time of reservation and is preferred by bank wire transfer. The remaining balance is due 90-days prior to arrival. We will send you a reminder to arrange a second wire unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
If a cancellation in writing is received and confirmed by the resort 91 or more days prior to scheduled arrival, a $500 CAD per person cancellation fee applies. If cancellation is received 0-90 days prior to arrival, then the reservation is 100% non-refundable.

Charter floatplanes depart from the South River Terminal of YVR from 3:00-4:00pm on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving to the resort generally between 3:45-4:45pm. Floatplanes begin returning resort guests to Vancouver following the unloading of arriving guests, generally between 3:30pm and 5:00pm, arriving YVR South River Terminal 45 to 60 minutes after departure. ***It is impossible to predict weather and flight conditions, so it is highly recommended that guests avoid booking connecting flights on the evening of their departure from the resort.
Sometimes, due to weather, floatplane schedules are changed or amended by the operator to suit inclement weather, or include a ground transfer component. Such changes and delays are beyond our control and while we and our floatplane partners do our best to adhere to plans, sometimes for the safety of passengers, scheduled flights are cancelled or delayed, until pilots receive the all-clear to take off from YVR South Terminal. In the case that the floatplane must land at another destination on Vancouver Island, supplemental ground and/or boat transfer will be provided. Please inquire directly with the resort regarding policies.
Due to the intimate size and nature of the resort, children must be a minimum of six years of age. Children’s rates apply to children ages 6-12 years old. Youth rates apply to youth ages 13-18 years old.
Single & Double Occupancy
Due to a short season and limited accommodations, adult double occupancy is required in all ensuite and deluxe tents during peak season stays.
A single occupancy supplement of $650 per night applies during shoulder seasons.
Super Peak Season Surcharge
For stays between June 28 and July 9, a $200 per night per tent surcharge will be applied.
Minimum & Maximum Occupancies
Maximum occupancy in all ensuite and deluxe tents is 4 people. Maximum occupancy in the Hillside Family Tent is 8 people.
The Hillside Family Tent has a minimum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children in the shoulder season and 2 adults and 2 youth in the peak season.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in and check-out days are on Sundays and Thursdays only. Check-in time is 3:30pm. Check-out time is 2:00pm. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability. Surcharge may apply.
One 60-minute relaxation massage per adult/youth is included with stays of three and four nights. Two 60-minute relaxation massages per adult/youth are included with each seven-night stay.
Baggage allowance per person on the floatplane is 40 lbs (18 kilos), which includes a small carry-on. Guests arriving to the resort before or after extended travel can store excess luggage securely at the Seair floatplane terminal.
Resort Package Inclusions
All-Inclusive Luxury Wilderness Safari Packages include: luxury tented accommodation, all gourmet meals including snacks, featured wines, beer and alcohol, guided activities, gear and instruction, one 60-minute relaxation massage per person, evening turndown service and all in-room amenities, laundry service, horse-drawn wagon shuttle, and unlimited enjoyment of amenity tents and waterfront lounge.
Included Guided Activities
Highly personalized, unforgettable adventures include horseback riding, whale and bear watching, Wild Side safari tour, ocean and fresh water fishing, canoeing and sea-kayaking, hiking, archery, trail running, mountain biking, rock climbing and rappelling, wilderness skills workshops, surfing, paintball, and stand-up paddleboarding. A yoga studio provides meditation and yoga classes every morning (in studio or on the waterfront deck) and a state-of-the-art fitness room is also available.
A la Carte Activities and Extras
Included activities are truly breathtaking, however we also offer an extraordinary menu of extras for those inclined, including our heli-adventures: heli-fishing, heli-hiking, heli-yoga, heli-kayaking, heli-ziplining and heli-sightseeing. The Healing Grounds Spa offers a choice of à la carte services including facials, manicures and pedicures, reiki and reflexology, plus hot stone and thai massage. Special reserve wines and liquor are also available for an à la carte fee.
After the short but scenic ride from the floatplane dock – by horse-drawn wagon, no less – a Champagne reception awaits at the Cookhouse. Enjoy passed canapies and appetizers, the cocktail or refreshment of your choosing, and settle in by the fire for a brief orientation given by resort management. You will meet your hospitality team, learn about bear-aware, wilderness safety, resort customs, and how-to register for activities and spa. Soon after, you will be walked to your tent – short grounds tour en-route – where your luggage awaits.
Business Services & Cell Service
By design, there is no in-room telephone or television, but all guest and amenity tents offer reliable and complimentary wifi. Also by design, there is no business centre. We make wireless printing available through our office, and, should you need access to a computer, there is a printer-connected 21” Mac in one of our Lounge Tents, for adult guest use. Traditional text messaging and cellular calls cannot be sent or received to devices at the resort. However, iMessage, iChat, FaceTime, Whatsapp and any other web-based messaging applications will keep you connected.
At the center of the main camp, across from the Cookhouse, a well-stocked first-aid room with AED is open 24/7. All guests are asked to fill-out a pre-arrival form before their stay. Submitted dietary preferences and allergies, environmental and insect bite allergies and other health information is noted in advance, so that staff and service delivery meet requirements. Guides are trained in Wilderness First Aid and carry first aid and/or wilderness survival kits, as appropriate, on all outings.
Gift certificates are valid for specific dates and seasons only and may be redeemed only by the recipient unless expressly permitted by the owner of the resort. Certificates are non-transferable – person to person or season to season, and they have no cash value. Gratuities are not included in gift certificates awarded to non-profit organizations for the purposes of fundraising, therefore gratuities are due from the certificate holder.
