Wilderness, Wine and Adventure Weekend

Actor, producer and radio host Terry David Mulligan, Canadian singer and song writer Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo and the wine makers from Frances’ M. Chapoutier and the Okanagan’s Le Vieux Pin are helping launch our 2013 (June - September) season. Partial proceeds from the launch weekend will go to support the remote beach clean-up efforts due to the floating debris caused by the 2011 Japanese tsunami that the resort is doing this year alongside the Ahousaht First Nations and Atleo Air, a locally owned seaplane and heli-copter operator.

This culinary weekend will tantalize your taste buds by featuring tastings and pairings with some great Canadian music and all the great Clayoquot adventure activities all rolled into our 3 night program from June 6-9, 2013.

Please call us for pricing and details.

September only – It’s a Heli of an Adventure!

New this year and in September only, we are offering heli-hiking, heli-photography and heli-sightseeing included in our 3, 4 and 7 night packages.

Now with the aid of a helicopter you can hike on remote glaciers, take a tour of beautiful Clayoquot Sound to see the UNESCO Biosphere from a bird’s eye view, or take your camera for a photography session. All guided and in some of the most spectacular scenery on the west coast!

This is the perfect time to book your beautiful September vacation with us. See you in September!

Flores Island Tsunami Beach Clean-Up

Atleo River Air Service, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort and Ahousaht First Nations are teaming up for the Remote Flores Island Wildside Beach Clean Up.

Countless debris has been washing up on the beaches up and down the west coast of Canada and the USA from the 2011 Tsunami that struck the north coast of Japan. With the help of local volunteers and those from all over Vancouver Island and as far as Vancouver, we are planning Saturday May 11th as our Wildside Beach Clean-up.

The day will start with water taxis running from the Method Marine dock from 9-11am and a welcome ceremony by the Ahousaht First Nations. With the help of Atleo Air, we will be able to rid the beaches and help maintain this delicate ecosystem in our UNESCO World Biosphere. Water taxis will start the return trips from 4-6pm.

Long Beach Lodge is offering reduced rates for all volunteers of $160 CDN based on double occupancy as well as the Wildside Trail office waiving their camping fee for all interested campers.

To register please contact Kathy MacRae at 250-726-8556 or [email protected] by May 9th.

Busy getting ready for our 2013 season with a fresh new look!

John took a look at the far side and said “let’s paint the town red!” and he wasn’t kidding either! On the water’s edge, with a view of the cookhouse our Deluxe tents have received a fresh new look and it is fabulous!

We have had a team of guys here working hard making sure that every last detail of our new look is everything that you will love while here in the wilderness.

Winter Time at CWR and a new office addition!

It’s been a quiet winter here in camp with 7 full time staff on site keeping the horses fed and watered, maintaining the office and keeping everything running smoothly. During the winter we welcomed Donna Carlson to our office team as our new bookkeeper on site. You will find Donna in the reservations office with Adele. Donna is nothing new to the outdoors and the love of nature with this being home for her horse, Summer, for the past few years. It has been a fabulous fit from the start and a welcomed addition to the team!

New additions to the CWR family

Our Director of Marketing, Kathy, and our Sous Chef, Kaelhub, have brought a new addition to the CWR family. Everyone meet Dawson!

This 8 week old bundle of joy is a purebred German Shepherd that comes from Snowycreek Shepherds in Cranbrook BC.

While a little lady for now, Dawson is sure to grow into a big proper lady as she is already 20lbs! We know that all the little ones that are here in the summer are sure to enjoy this rambunctious little ball of energy around camp!

The two proud parents already have Rocky, a cat that Kathy brought home from Honduras with her 8 years ago and a Beta fish named Stirfry the 3rd. It is sure to be a full house in their place but they are so happy to welcome Dawson into the fold as we are sure all of you will too!

When Donna arrived and saw the paradise that she found herself in, she knew that she needed a 4 legged friend. She reached out to the local Vancouver Island rescue and found this little jem.

Everyone meet Libby!

Libby is part German Shepherd, part we don’t know but she is a wonderful little girl who is a ball of energy and loves to play! We think she has taken a look around and knows that she struck puppy gold!

Don’t forget, we always love to read your reviews on TripAdvisor and now would be great time to let others know what your memories are of your time here with us! Write a review here!
