Vancouver Island Waterfront Lounge

Ivanhoe Glass Lounge

Inspired by the resort’s much-loved 110-foot tugboat, the SS Ivanhoe, the Ivanhoe Glass Lounge rests at the very edge of the estuary, at the point where the Bedwell River spills into the Pacific Ocean. Eleven-foot-high ceilings at our Vancouver Island waterfront lounge look out over one of the most diverse natural environments in the world, where bears, eagles, blue herons, otters, and seals go about their business on the foreshore, while guests lounge inside with handcrafted cocktails by the fire.

Upstairs, a rooftop lounge provides just enough elevation to look straight down to the bottom of the emerald-green Bedwell River. From the roof deck, nature unfolds in true glory, where a gas firepit and cedar deck chairs invite lounging well into the evening.

Eleven foot high, floor to ceiling windows on two sides look out over one of the most biodiverse natural environments in the world.
Black, bear, eagle, blue herons, otter, seals, martin and other wildlife go about their business on the foreshore, while inside, guests lounge beside a gas fireplace enjoying handcrafted cocktails.
A gas firepit and cedar deck chairs invite lounging well into the evening, and on occasion, live entertainment is provided on the upper or lower decks.

“I decided that the true luxury of this high-end summer camp is not its control over nature, but the lengths to which it goes to poetically frame it.”
