One of the best ways to appreciate the million-acre Clayoquot Sound Bisophere, is to explore it by air, flying low over the ancient rainforest, but not low enough to disturb wildlife and migrating whales. Resort pilots know the sound like the backs of their hands. During one full-hour in the air, you can see a range of landscapes covering remote beaches, dense old-growth forest, waterfalls and alpine lakes, rugged volcanic coastline, sea caves, seal and sea lion colonies, First Nations villages, deserted islands, isolated lighthouses and more. The tour is narrated and includes touch-down on a remote island beach or alpine site, for a gourmet picnic lunch and the very finest British Columbia bubbly. A la carte sightseeing includes return helicopter passage, pilot/guide, gourmet lunch, beverages. $2500 plus taxes. Capacity one to four persons.
