One promise we can make, as you plan your most romantic of events at the Outpost, is that it will be unimaginably, spectacularly beautiful and truly unforgettable.  Here, in the ancient temperate rainforest, teeming with wildlife and authentic, exotic backdrops - punctuated only by extraordinary luxury and great white canvas tents - your special occasion will be blessed by the the ancients and the energy of the ages.

The intimate scale of the resort prescribes privacy and a level of service and pampering unlike anything offered by large, all-inclusive resorts.   The memories you make here are yours alone, as unique and original as your dreams, and unfolding at a pace set by you.

While pretty much anything goes, two themes dominate resort romance - Modern Natural and Wildly Traditional.   Modern Natural leads itself to the wide open yet intimate space of the Ivan Hoe waterfront lounge, and incorporates small collections of tableware, vintage silver and crystal.  Minimalist natural centrepieces, handpainted stonewear, and polished mahogany - at once romantic and sophisticated - are hallmarks.   For more modern natural images visit our weddings album.

Wildly Traditional is just that - wild and traditional.  Harvest tables dressed in sword ferns, huckleberry, salal and salmonberry; infused with wild berries and roses; garnished with sparkling crystal votives, vintage silver, drippy candles, and miles of fairy lights.  Inside a billowy white tent, or outside under the stars, wildly traditional is as romantic as romantic gets. We work with an experienced, local wedding planner who can secure the services of a local officiate, photographer and musicians to help make your extraordinary decorating and entertainment dreams come true.  Or, if you are happy with simple, lovely natural flora, we can help with that ourselves.  Our Maitre d’, Executive Chef and Pastry Chef will work with you to plan the perfect, personalized menu.  Six-course white-linen wine-paired dinner, casual coastal lunch, or rustic family style brunch - whatever you wish.

While the romantic occasion will be the highlight of your visit, you and your guests will enjoy an un-rivalled list of wilderness adventure, plus Relais & Châteaux class dining, spa services and luxurious accommodation. Budgeting is easy with all-inclusive pricing for three, four or seven night packages, with return floatplane passage from Vancouver YVR.  All you have to worry about is your guest list, what to wear, what music to dance to, and how many courses for dinner.

Romantic Renewals

Here, in the UNESCO-designated Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, engagements, anniversaries and romantic rekindlings take on a spiritual quality found nowhere else in the world. In the middle of the rainforest, on the far edge of the wild, we live in harmony with nature.   Bright green and blue days, and inky black nights are just as they were when you first fell in love.  Go back to that time and place and, against an impossibly romantic traditional backdrop of a beautifully decorated, luxuriously appointed candle-lit guest tent, re-discover each other, and the magic that brought you together.

We have hosted some truly spectacular ceremonies on desserted white sandy beaches, in our own lush fern gardens, in the Cookhouse, and on the sundecks overlooking the estuary.  More than one intensely romantic renewal of vows has happened in a great white canvas dining tent. The greatest successes come at the hands of those inclined to work with our natural surroundings.  Mixing old and new traditions, and combining contemporary elements with those found in nature is our specialty.

Book the games tent or waterfront lounge, for an intimate evening alone to initiate or celebrate a marriage.  Say ‘I do’ or ‘I’m so glad I did’ in the most intimate of settings.   Antique furnishings, sparkling silver, candles and oil lamps, discreet anticipatory service - how perfect.

Unique Limitations

The first step in planning an Outpost wedding, is to re-imagine the possibilities.  While we do promise a stellar resort location, we don’t offer adjoining suites, a grand ballroom, Juliette balcony, or the ability to partition off common areas during high season.  If you are amenable to all of that, we would love to host your wilderness wedding.   Small weddings of 20 or less people, can happen at anytime, as we are able to assign ceremonies and festivities to private areas large enough to accommodate everyone in total luxury, without interrupting regular resort operations.  Guests planning larger weddings of up to 74 people, are invited to consider the posted buy-out weeks or inquire well in advance about regular season availability.
